Power plant overhaul at Uniper: 148 containers for shutdown in Wilhelmshaven

The container building on the site of the Uniper power plant, which AMTRA Mobilraum GmbH erected in Wilhelmshaven for a comprehensive shutdown in summer 2017, offers 720 changing rooms. The changing room, shower and toilet units are complemented by 20 comfortably furnished office containers in which the complex processes of the turnaround measures are planned and monitored.

Complete equipment including furniture

AMTRA not only supplied the different types of containers for the project, we also provided the furniture. From office desks to refrigerators, from changing room lockers to filing cabinets, we fitted out the containers entirely according to our customer’s wishes.

Each office container has two desk workstations including mobile pedestals, filing cabinets and a refrigerator as well as chairs for visitors. The changing rooms in the single container version each have 10 lockers, two tables and eight chairs. In the largest version as a 3-person multi-compartment system, the changing rooms even offer space for 30 lockers, six tables, 24 chairs and three fridges.

In total, the facility has double lockers with the option of consistent black/white separation for up to 720 people.

Safety through SCCP certification

AMTRA pays meticulous attention to compliance with the high safety standards prescribed for companies in the petrochemical sector. This is also demonstrated by our SCCP certification, which is an important part of our quality management.

The plant in Wilhelmshaven also has extensive safety equipment to ensure accident-free working: Radio-networked smoke detectors warn all employees in the plant in the event of a fire.

Several fire extinguishers in the corridors enable prompt extinguishing attempts, and each floor also has three emergency exits that can be opened in the direction of escape at any time thanks to the panic lock.

Efficient LED floodlights on the stairs and entrances ensure that employees can move around safely even in the dark.

Containers were positioned with a telescopic crane

The planned installation area on the power plant site was difficult to reach for delivery by truck. A telescopic crane was therefore used to position the containers with its wide jib.
